The Glasgow Academical Club

Although the section has approximately 120 members, we are always keen to welcome new members of all golfing abilities and experience to the Glasgow Academical Golf Club.

The Club is open to anyone who attended the school or who is a parent of a pupil and has an interest in this great game. If you are interested in joining or know of someone who may be interested in joining, please get in touch with the Secretary, John Mason whose details are shown below. He will be only too pleased to send you details of all our outings and matches.

Our calendar of events includes a Spring Meeting which has in recent years been arranged at Elie or Blackwaterfoot on the Isle of Arran and usually involves a one night stay (with overnight lodging being provided by G.A. homeowners), a dinner and golf. We have annual matches with The School, Watsonians, High School and Kelvinside. Our Autumn Meeting, with all the silverware up for grabs, will take place again this year at Pollok Golf Club. These events are supported by golfers of all abilities with the 'social aspect' being a high priority.

Our 'scratch team' under the management of Graeme Belch take part in the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Coronation Schools Trophy held each year at Royal Burgess in Edinburgh, which Glasgow Accies won in 2004, as well as the Grafton Morrish which is held at Hunstanton and Brancaster in Norfolk, which Glasgow Accies won in 2003.
